MSNBC's Richard Lui writes in the Huffington Post about misconceptions facing the Asian American Pacific Islander community by sharing his own experience. Lui almost flunked out of high school twice and when he did graduate, was not able to afford college and took a job at Mrs. Fields Cookies. He found the motivation and resources to enroll at City College of San Francisco and discovered his passions through debate and working on a political campaign. Read more about Lui's journey and the reality the AAPI faces gaining an education, here.
