MSNBC INVITES VIEWERS TO JOURNEY DEEPER WITH MSNBC ORIGINALS
“In Other News” Premieres Saturday, October 15
October 11, 2016 – Today, MSNBC announced a new slate of compelling programming titled MSNBC ORIGINALS which features stories that spark conversation and shape culture. Airing on Saturdays (9-10 PM ET), MSNBC ORIGINALS will delve into narratives pulled from the headlines, as well as those found under the radar, which have an echoing effect on the world and American culture today.
“In Other News,” marks the first hour-long program under the MSNBC ORIGINALS umbrella. Told in three parts, “In Other News,” transports viewers back to a specific moment in history when a monumental news story engrossed a nation, and in turn, cast a long shadow over other key events that would have likely dominated the headlines any other day.
The inaugural series of MSNBC ORIGINALS features the stories overshadowed by the violence of the Los Angeles riots in April of 1992. While the nation’s spotlight was focused firmly on California, infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer stood trial, an Exxon executive vanished, and a gunman in a North California school took children hostages. Told through national and local news reports, first-person footage, and interviews with keyplayers who experienced these events firsthand, “In Other News,” is a journey into a variety of fascinating headlines from modern times.
Episode 1 of “In Other News” airs on October 15; Episode 2 on October 22 and Episode 3 on October 29.
